There’s no denying that we are different as a generation. We as millennials grew up in an electronic-filled and socially-networked age. During our generation, social media use has skyrocketed, and we have been a big part of that. We are the generation that has received the most marketing attention, and truthfully, we know more than most when it comes to the online world. We are the tech-savvy generation, we are the side hustle generation, and we work hard.
One thing that makes us stand out is the fact that we can adapt to change well. Change is all around us, and we have seen it more than most. Accepting change is one of the hardest things to do in this day and age, but as a younger generation, we are great at seeing change happen, adapting to it, and more importantly, accepting it.
What I want people to see is that we as millennials are accepting, cultured, educated, fast learners, driven, entrepreneurial, tech savvy and much more! We are hustling day in and day out to make our mark on this world, and I think we are doing it well. I have several friends my age and even younger who are entrepreneurs and making it on their own. They don’t report to a boss, they don’t technically have a 9-5 job, but they have a passion for something they love and they are working hard to make an income from it. They create their own jobs, they define their own self-worth, and they do it with a go-getter mindset. Those are some of the most valued traits in today's world.
What’s also great to see is the older generations reaching out to us millennials for help and advice. So, as you seek older mentors on your journey, remember that you, too, have something to teach and can mentor in return! Together, we have a lot to give, teach, and, learn, and share.
